Dr. Simone Ilia grew up in a small town called Lafayette, TN, and though not originally from there, will forever call Tennessee home. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (Go Vols!) where she studied Biochemistry with a minor in English. She went on to obtain her medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University - DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, TN. From there, she completed her residency in Murfreesboro, TN at UT-Nashville Family Medicine Residency where she served as chief resident and subsequently stayed on as faculty. She is a proud second generation family physician and grew up watching her father serve their small town in various clinical settings. Through that experience among others, she is passionate about serving the underserved and inspiring the next generation of family physicians to care for those who need it most.
Her interests include both longitudinal care and acute care, physician well being, global health, and medical humanities/ethics. Her hobbies include traveling, reading, writing, listening to random podcasts, quality time with family and friends, and getting outside. She is married to her husband, Chase, with one fur child, Puff the cat.
