UTHSC-Nashville Family Medicine Residency Program
Hospitalist Fellowship

In August 2020, the UT-Nashville Family Medicine Residency Program at Murfreesboro launched its new Hospitalist Fellowship.  The one-year fellowship is designed to provide additional educational experiences and skills that would equip the fellow either to practice as a hospitalist, or to provide hospital care as part of a robust family medicine practice. This training might prove particularly useful for a family doctor who intends to offer comprehensive patient services in a rural or international setting.

The majority of the fellowship year is spent working under the supervision of two outstanding hospitalist mentors at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro.  The fellow gains additional expertise in the Intensive Care Unit, on the in-patient Cardiology service, and through elective rotations.
